Letter: New state rule about restrooms is disgusting and immoral
Curious notice in the Jan. 6 newspaper, about a new state rule allowing transgender people to use the restroom/locker room of their choice. No notice that it was coming, only “ruling in effect.”
If a woman were to walk in on me while I’m in the restroom, I would find that disgusting.
And the ruling does open up a whole new avenue of attack for pedophiles and sexual predators, which I find immoral. So it is disgusting and immoral, and thrown at us without warning by an unelected commission, presumably because somebody’s feelings might get hurt.
I thought the whole idea of a bicameral legislature was to make it difficult to pass laws without a fairly wide consensus of their worth. Particularly laws of this type.
