Letter: Regarding religion, don’t judge a book without reading it

This nation is now deeply concerned with Muslims and their religion. There are 1.6 billion Muslims worldwide with rapidly increasing numbers. I think few non-Muslims have read the Quran. I have read the Quran and several histories of Muhammad, so I would have a basis upon which to judge his teachings and the resulting cultures.

It is estimated that there are 1.2 billion Christians in the world and that number is rapidly decreasing.

There is another volume of scripture that is a witness to the truthfulness of the Bible; teaching the same doctrines as the Bible only to a different people by prophets in Central America (600 BC to 400 AD). That witness is called the Book of Mormon. Once again, I think few non-Mormons have read this wonderful book. Millions of people love both the Bible and the Book of Mormon because they support Christianity’s message to the world today.

How can you judge a book without reading it? It is each individual’s responsibility to thoughtfully search for truth! This is especially true when it relates to religion.
