Letter: Danger at Hildebrand and 395 in Kennewick is real

I am in complete agreement with the Dec. 21 letter by Lee Ford with regard to the current danger at the Hildebrand and 395 intersection.

We live nearby and use this intersection almost daily, and almost daily see semi-trucks blow right through the red lights, most without sounding a horn in warning.

Yes, there are other vehicles that ignore the red lights as well, but it can be pretty unnerving to watch an 18-wheeler plow right through as you are starting to proceed across with the green light. There are loads of cars filled with students headed to Southridge every morning and afternoon across this intersection.

It is imperative that as drivers head east or west through this area, that they double-check the north/south traffic before starting across! I pray a resolution be found quickly.
