I am so sad. Recently, I was driving down George Washington Way in Richland and anticipating the beautiful Christmas decorations that have adorned John Dam Plaza for the past years. Much to my dismay, there was only dirt and darkness in that park.
My friend who was with me said “didn’t you know they moved those decorations down to Howard Amon Park.” So I did a left turn and went down to see them. Disappointment. I wonder how many people know where they are and how many people will take the time to go down there to see them. They were always so beautiful at John Dam Plaza with the trees all decorated along with the free-standing ones.
Oh well, maybe they will be back up there next year — or will that be a parking lot for people attending the new outdoor stage? Which makes me wonder: Where are people going to park when they attend the concerts?
