Letter: One must be open to unconditional love from dogs

Upon reading the Nov. 30 article titled “When dogs heal,” I was deeply moved. Having grown up with two dogs myself, I have observed that it is not that the dogs that do the healing, but the unconditional love that dogs continually share that triggers healing.

Of course to receive this love and healing one must be open to it. Frequently we need to be beaten down and left feeling worthless before our door opens to receiving this indescribable unconditional love being so freely offered all the time. There are many stories of this love in a book by Harold Klemp titled “Animals are Soul Too!”
