Letter: Downtown Pasco director brought vision, talent and passion to job
I agree with the Herald’s assessment that Michael Goins brought vision, talent and passion to his job as executive director of the Downtown Pasco Development Authority.
We found him always to be innovative and open to inclusion of views from the downtown Pasco business community. He recently included us in his superb briefings to state legislators on the importance of the Washington Main Street program to our downtown revitalization efforts. He spearheaded efforts to define the future look of Pasco’s historic center and to make it a destination place. We will miss him at the annual Christmas program, which he planned well.
We sincerely hope that Michael will have a second chance to work with distressed and virtually forgotten communities. He has much potential and can continue to make a positive difference. History should not close its pages on him. Nor should we.
