Letter: Christmas is all about Jesus
In thinking about Christmas this year, I imagined that I was the editor of a newspaper and receiving this letter:
My name is Angela and I am 12 years old. I don’t hear about Jesus at Christmastime anymore. I learned about Him in Sunday School but my parents don’t go to church anymore. So all I hear about is Santa, Frosty the Snowman, Rudolf and presents.
I know that a girl named Virginia, wrote to an editor long ago, asking if Santa was real. Can you tell me if Jesus really exists?
Oh yes, Angela, Jesus still exists and is very real, just unseen. The editor told Virginia, “It’s the unseen things we often have to have faith in.” Jesus, Angela, is the greatest of all that unseen!
However, He was seen too! When God saw how wicked the people were on Earth, He sent His Son, Jesus, as a baby on Christmas so that He would grow to a man and teach the people to learn about love, forgiving, giving and kindness.
Christmas is all about Jesus! There would be no Christmas without Him! Sadly our world is turning upside down and trying to push Jesus out!
Angela, you just need to believe and pray (He hears you) Just always remember who Christmas is all about!
