Letter: Admitting Syrian refugees would put American public in peril

Headline from TCH’s Nov. 17 front page featured article reads, “Inslee: State will welcome refugees.” President Obama, in a recent speech, disparaged “those who somehow start equating the issue of refugees with the issue of terrorism.”

The fact is, one or more of the terrorists involved in the Paris massacre entered France with the flood of Syrian refugees. All the Islamic State terrorists needed to do was to achieve anonymity by assuming a new identity and joining the legitimate refugees fleeing from the horrors in their homeland. It was impossible for the French to properly vet the horde of refugees with the open borders prevalent throughout Europe.

The Islamic State has made it openly clear that America is their next target. The FBI director says there are “No good answers about the allegedly exhaustive vetting process promised by Obama.”

Washington state certainly doesn’t have the databases to sufficiently vet a large number of Syrian refugees. Military analysts, security experts, governors and a former CIA director all say the same thing. We can’t possibly vet the number of refugees Obama wants, thus putting the U.S. public in extreme peril.

Do your job Mr. President, which is protecting the American people first.
