Letter: Thanks for the good in the world
Every day I drop my daughter off for her early morning middle school band class. Recently it was dark and rainy. She carries a huge backpack, and often an instrument in each hand.
As I watched her hurry to the door in the rain, I thought, “Oh, I should go help her.” But then as I looked past her, I saw what I see every morning. A small group of her peers who arrive early and stand at the door. They open it for every student who approaches. They are consistently kind and considerate.
There is much to be scared of in the world around us. But there is also much good in the world, and it is growing in the hearts of our future. I am very grateful for the good.
