Letter: People don’t understand service and sacrifice of veterans

I am writing to express my extreme disappointment in the clueless people who want to constantly complain about our government, and how they have rights; like the right to bear arms.

The reason you have these rights is because of all the brave men and women who put their lives on the line for your freedom. Every year I go to a Veterans Day event to honor our heroes, but the sad fact is, most of the attendees are veterans! Is this another one of your rights? To disrespect these heroes by not taking an hour out of your day shows just how clueless and thankless you really are.

Think about that the next time you see a homeless veteran asking for some money. Someday you are going to be held accountable for your lack of empathy and lack of time to honor these true heroes.

To all the veterans out there, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I truly apologize for all the thoughtless people that don’t understand or apparently don’t care about your service and sacrifice.

God bless all veterans!
