Letter: Feelings about killing someone unbalanced in America

Are our feelings about killing someone or something somewhat unbalanced in America?

It seems that some raise the roof when a dog or maybe a cat is killed for whatever reason. However, killing an unborn child to some may be what will solve the problem.
