Letter: Thanks to people who recognized veterans

I want to give thanks to all the people who took some time Nov. 11 to recognize and thank all the veterans who have served for our country.

I know that at one point in their lives, they wrote a blank check payable to the United States of America for an amount up to, and including, their lives, regardless of personal political view.

I am enlisted in the National Guard and will serve for the next eight years of my life. It is an honor to serve one’s country, and it’s truly sad that there are way too many people in this country who no longer remember that fact.
