Letter: Different standards for treatment of Republican and Democratic candidates
In his Nov. 11 op-ed, Dan Thomasson instructed presidential candidate Ben Carson about the protocol for proper treatment of the media. He mentioned that they are as good as they have always been at trolling up past foibles, and that if historical writings reveal any shift in policy or position whatsoever, “the slightest change will be noted, and not always to your advantage.”
I am sure Mr. Thomasson intended to mention that, fortunately, there is an idiot-proof method to determine if such changes will be spun for you or against you. If you are a Democrat, you can get away with murder. If you are a Republican, your entire mortal journey better be as white as the outside of Hillary’s sepulcher.
