Letter: Your opinion matters, so register to vote today
With the 2016 presidential elections coming up, many people must stop and wonder how many people really vote at least once. Well, the answer is not as many as there should be.
Many people don’t vote because they say stuff like, “Well, my vote doesn’t matter,” or “elections don’t come around that often, so why should I vote?” Or, they simply don’t register to vote. The world today has a huge population of the younger generation (voting age) which usually doesn’t follow politics on a regular basis. When they do, it is an issue that relates to them in some way.
Everyone should vote. One vote really does make a difference, especially since most candidates only win by a small numbers of votes. Voting is one of the many rights that we get as citizens for our country.
If you don’t vote, then after the elections are over, you have no right to be disappointed at the outcome, because you didn’t submit your opinion during the election. Don’t you want to be able to have a say in who runs this country? Your opinion does matter, so go out and register to vote today.
