Letter: Jeb Bush wants you to forget how car got in the swamp
Junior borrows the family car; together with his friends they enjoy a night of raising havoc. Later, Dad gets a call that the car is in the swamp and we are stuck.
When Dad arrives, Junior is passed out on the shoulder of the road. Dad then gets into the drivers seat, while asking Junior’s friends to place timbers under the tires.
Instead of putting the timbers under the tires, Junior’s friend puts them behind the wheels. When the police arrive on the scene, the officer inquires, “Who is responsible for this mess?” All Junior’s friends point at Dad, “he is the one who is driving.”
Recent sound bites from the “JEB can fix it” campaign:
“Divider-in-Chief” Jeb wants you to forget how Republicans gathered in 2009 to conspire to make the recovery as long and painful as possible.
“This president added $8 trillion to the debt” — Jeb wants you to forget how the car got in the swamp, and what it cost to get the car out.
These are the conclusions that Jeb Bush wishes us to believe. Ignore the fact that Junior is passed out, and the culpability of the “accusers.”
