Letter: Keep up improvements to Uptown Shopping Center

As a native Richlander I grew up just one block from the Uptown Shopping Center and spent may hours there as a child. I would love to see the businesses succeed as they did in their glory days (before the Columbia Center mall opened in October of 1969).

The new murals and signs are a welcome addition to the overall look, but that new look stops there. There needs to be requirements or a master plan to keep the store fronts cleaned up to include the sidewalks, windows and alleyways. Some of the store fronts look very shabby and the sidewalks are covered with years of gum and junk, unlike the downtown shopping area, which looks great.

Keep up the improvements to the Uptown Shopping Center but please take the upgrades and cleanness to the ground level.

Nancie Daniel, Kennewick
