Letter: Prosecutors aren’t using gun laws already in place

A recent edition of the TCH had two letters on gun violence. I would like to reply to both.

The question of an armed person being able to protect others is easy to answer: Would standing by saying stop be helpful, or would the risk be worthwhile to try to stop carnage?

Common-sense gun laws are already in place, prosecutors are not using them. It is illegal to have a gun in a crime. It is illegal for a felon to own or possess a gun. It also is illegal to shoot people.
