Letter: Thank you for rescuing dumped kitten on highway

I was driving to Hanford for work recently when I saw a little gray baby kitty dash through six lanes of morning rush-hour traffic.

I was headed the wrong way to rescue it, but I turned my car around and got on the side of the road where the rock fence is, which trapped the kitty. I pulled over and right behind me came another car. The driver’s name was Autumn Mitchell.

We both decided to save this kitty, which was clearly dumped on the highway. She grabbed a towel and we got the baby girl, bleeding and with a major eye infection. Once we had her in the towel she was purring. We cleaned her eyes and held her.

Autumn said she would take her to her vet and keep her. My husband would not have been thrilled, but if Autumn could not keep her I would have.

I want to thank Autumn for paying for the vet bill and keeping her. All of her injuries were from being dumped, but she will heal. What a great gal, nice to meet you Autumn!
