Letter: Use of force in Zambrano shooting was proper and lawful

First, I extend my condolences to the Zambrano family. Having said that, may we please have some degree of honesty and factual discussion. So many letters contain misinformation and are factually wrong as to be downright hilarious.

Secondly, it’s apparent that some have an opinion of the police formed by a close encounter which left them bitter and the facts and the law don’t matter. Read the law. Trying to arrest someone with meth in their system, refusing to obey lawful orders, and resisting arrest throwing rocks large enough to cause serious bodily harm presents a life-threatening challenge.

Remember the only reason the police were involved was that they had been called by local business owners to remove Zambrano because he had been harassing customers, interfering with their business.

Zambrano had been removed from the family home several months prior, thus portraying him as a great family man is also incorrect. He was known to the police from previous contacts. Just obey lawful commands and you will not have any problems.

Every organization or law representative nationwide has found this use of force to be proper and lawful. Now we want the chief removed? Have we lost all common sense?
