Letter: Putin doing U.S. a favor by bombing our friends?

So Russian President Vladimir Putin is bombing our friends, and we’re supposed to think that’s bad. Given the experience the U.S. has had with friends that we’ve armed, I’m not convinced he’s not doing us a favor.

To imagine that the people we’re arming now will be our friends once Assad is gone ignores history — the odds of those arms being used against Americans in the future seem pretty high.
