Letter: Write in Barton for Pasco School Board

I live in Kennewick, but my grandchildren, who attend school in Pasco, give me an interest in the strained relationships between Pasco teachers and the school board.

Media coverage and personal observations lead me to believe that in order for things to change for the better, voters in the upcoming Nov. 3 election should consider changing to new ideas and new thinking within the school board.

I find it ironic that no current member of the school board has taught school. Current board members seem to either not know, or not care, that not having a curriculum, or material to do their jobs effectively, makes things not only difficult, but next to impossible for teachers.

Perhaps there are many fine candidates ready to step up and provide new leadership for this troubled school board. One that I am aware of, and will urge parents and concerned citizens to vote for, is Kathleen Barton. Kathleen has 36 years of teaching experience.

The time for new thinking is now, and Kathleen is the right person to provide it. If you agree please write in “Kathleen Barton” on your Nov. 3 ballot for Director At Large, Position 1.
