Letter: SCORE is passionate to help people launch businesses

Has anyone ever had the dream of starting a business? I am sure we all have at one point. The dream of taking control of our own future, having a flexible schedule that fits our life, and the ability to control our destiny is what I assume we all strive to do or have.

I say this because, what I have witnessed at a small nonprofit called SCORE, in TRIDEC across from the regional chamber office in Kennewick, is the effect one person can have on an entire community.

I have sat in on now a dozen appointments where people have dreams of launching a business, and a selfless man named Simon Mahler has delivered. In fact, he has delivered 38 success stories to the region, quietly and without much acknowledgment. His ability to understand each person’s passion, desire, and purpose has been his strongest attribute and it’s what has made the Mid-Columbia Tri-Cities SCORE Chapter see more than 6,000 people this year.

Simon is a leader and a voice of support for all who have that dream. He is passionate to help us all launch a business. I suggest you find Simon before it’s too late. What a great organization.
