Letter: Shocked about decision to clear Pasco police officers

Shocked and in total disbelief about the decision to clear Pasco officers of any wrongdoing in the death of Antonio Zambrano-Montes.

So if someone throws a rock and displays erratic and volatile behavior, that gives police officers the right to shoot at him 17 times? Unbelievable! Kids are erratic and volatile sometimes, you do not shoot them!

If these officers are such marksmen, why did they not shoot him in the rock-throwing arm or his leg? No, they elected to shoot him like an animal.

“Potential for serious harm or death from the large rocks” ... what was he throwing, boulders? Come on Sgt. Warren, “seriously injure or killed someone,” you can surely do better than that. Prosecutor Shawn Sant, no criminal charges because “the rocks were deadly weapons” ... are you serious?

Officers decided to shoot Zambrano-Montes; they must have had a very intensive training program. How about, there are three of us. let’s rush him and overpower him, oh I forgot the deadly weapons, and the rocks.

I certainly hope that the three officers can live with having taking the life of a rock-throwing, Mexican migrant worker on meth. I guess if nothing else this may be a good training video.
