Letter: Appalled that Pasco School District changed wording in teachers contract

I was appalled to see that the Pasco teachers contract, which had been agreed on, had changed wording in it. The Pasco School District did the final printing of the contract and made changes to it. Did they think the teachers union was going to sign it off without reading it?

The teachers are professionals, unlike the superintendent (who is a bully), their spokesperson (who is rude), and the school board (whose members are puppets on a string).

Tell me if I am wrong, the school board is elected by the community of Pasco, therefore, they make the decision, not the superintendent. The teachers and students are to follow procedures and rules, not lie. What has the district done? Good thing they are not in a classroom!

I was out on the picket lines, I saw the support the teachers have in Pasco. Parents and the community are in support of the teachers even though the district says there are only a few. Pasco parents and the community need to continue working on the job you need to do.

Pasco teachers are the best!
