Letter: No air conditioning for symphony concert at Richland High School
We recently attended the Mid-Columbia Symphony Concert which was held in the Richland High School Auditorium. The one thing that was uncomfortable about the evening of beautiful music was the fact that there was no air conditioning. The auditorium and lobby areas were uncomfortably hot. The musicians on stage were about to “cook,” especially the men in their black suits.
I inquired as to why there was no air conditioning and was told that the school district was advised of the concert and that the temperature of the auditorium would be controlled.
Someone goofed. I certainly hope that this will never happen again. Here we have a state-of-the-art auditorium that should be monitored for complete control of heating and cooling according to the event and the weather!
Thanks, Mid-Columbia Symphony, for a superb concert in spite of the flaw in the heating and cooling system that evening.
