Letter: Thanks to volunteers for Heritage Days event at Sacajawea State Park

We just presented the Heritage Days event at Sacajawea Park on Sept. 25 and 26. We want to thank everyone for coming out and making it such a success.

Lewis and Clark reenactments, fur traders, mountain men, Umatilla Generation Dancers, The Wanapum Heritage Center, Tamástslikt Cultural Institute, Blue Mountain Wildlife, antique car club, Jeff Stewart with his steam engine, Ice Age Floods and mammoth dig, Flint Knappers, Our Authors, Gloria Linkey, John Rekart Jr., Sandra Stedwick and Robert Heacock, Confluence, Corps of Engineers, French Town, Tri-City Wood carvers, all of the volunteers and friends of Friends of Sacajawea State Park, and too many more to name who helped to put this on.

Margaret Wilde and I could not have done this without your help. We had 1,600 school children plus park visitors, for a total of more than 2,500 on the first day, with a grand total of close to 6,000 for both days.

Again thank you all for making Heritage Days such a success.

Sharon Stewart
