Letter: Put lightning rods in trees to prevent wildfires

My name is Jonathon Norris. I am 10 years old and am in the 5th grade at Vista Elementary.

This summer, many firemen have died trying to stop the fires started by lightning. I think the Forest Service should put lightning rods every 50 miles among the trees to prevent many fires from happening. Lots of firefighters’ lives could be saved.

The firefighters’ children are very sad that their parents have died in these fires, so please listen to me and put lightning rods in the trees.
