Letters to the Editor

Letter: If Iran can police itself, why not America?

This country owes a great debt of gratitude to the Democratic Party and, more specifically, President Obama and his take-no-prisoners-negotiator, Secretary of State John Kerry.

America has agreed, through these two, to an agreement with Iran that they will stop trying to develop nuclear weapons. They have agreed that Iran will do the inspecting, taking soil samples, pictures of their nuclear facilities, etc. and report their findings to the International Atomic Energy Agency.

This is great news for America. Following the example of allowing miscreants to police themselves I am sure that this country will soon be saving tax dollars by eliminating many oversight agencies that will no longer be needed.

Democrats will have to introduce legislation to eliminate the busybodies of the Environment Protection Agency. Coal, oil — well, actually, all industry — will police itself.

No need for the Food and Drug Administration. There’s no reason why drug companies and slaughterhouses cannot assess their own products and determine their safety.

Then there’s the Securities and Exchange Commission. Wall Street brokers can report on themselves that all is on the up-and-up in the world of finance.

I look to the Democrats to start saving the country’s money and start eliminating agencies.
