Letter: Pasco teachers strike a civics lesson for children

We are a civilized society in large part due to our structured legal system and respect for authority. We all gave Pasco teachers a free pass on their illegal strike because we wanted to see them get a much-deserved pay raise and attempt to resolve other classroom issues. But that goodwill is fading fast.

Strikes by public employees are generally illegal since they clearly are not in the public interest. To openly defy a court order to return to work is a wonderful teaching lesson in civics for our children, isn’t it?
