Letter: Community in Pasco needs to support teachers

In the Sept. 2 Tri-City Herald, I read an article that showcased how the Pasco School District operates.

The article states that the district is “pursuing a court order to force teachers back to work” and that “the health, safety and welfare of the students and non-striking employees are seriously harmed and further threatened by the strike.”

Does this sound like words of a district that “values its teachers” and “our support of and respect for our teachers is unwavering?” The district’s actions against its teachers does not support its words.

Our community in Pasco needs to continue to support the people who do put our students first — the teachers.
