Letter: Performing arts center would be the best landmark for the Tri-Cities

In reference to the Aug. 25 letter regarding a landmark/monument, the best one the Tri-Cities could have would be a performing arts center.

Not one that would hold only 800 people, but a full-size one. The performances of Nutcracker fill Richland High auditorium five times.

We would then be known for valuing the talent we have here — not just known for the Hanford site.

The arts reflect community values and help us recognize all that it means to be human.
