Letter: Tri-City heroes give time, talent and treasture for quality of life
Who are the Tri-City heroes? Volunteers who give of their time, talent and treasure so that others may have better quality of life. Volunteers are the backbone of America.
Norm Fisler, who passed Aug. 8, was one of those such heroes. He literally saved many lives with his devotion to helping people be the best Americans possible in mind, body and soul.
The volunteers who put on the Show and Shine for hunger are likewise heroes. For the past eight years they have literally turned themselves inside out to present the family friendly car show including amazing vintage cars, trucks, motorcycles and even a child’s tricycle or two.
They have raised $38,000 a year to support the war on hunger. All those who participated are heroes too in enjoying this well-planned, stellar event.
Even the people who pull weeds and help make our cities a cleaner place are heroes too. Every little effort to create a more peaceful, caring world is appreciated.
