Pasco should lead by example
I have friends throughout the Pasco school district: Teachers, administrators and board members. On the morning of Aug. 24, I was disappointed by all three.
My elementary school children witnessed the school board refuse to hear public comment, and watched some teachers and their supporters react with a mob mentality.
What lesson are my kids supposed to take away from this debacle? I fear what they learned is that if you don’t like what someone has to say, you can shout them down or shut them up.
I support our teachers. I support our administrators. I support our school board. But I advocate for our children. I hope all three parties will stop these deliberate and deeply personal affronts, and lead by example.
