Why should taxpayers fork out $200k a year to a judge who’s a repeat DUI offender? | Opinion
A criminal stands in judgment?
Judge Tanner committed two DUI offenses in the last 5 years with major car accidents, driving three times over the legal limit, lies and hiding from the police.
Does our community truly want a convicted criminal to be a judge here? Is it not one of the most respected positions in our community? Why would the judicial commission allow a criminal to judge our community members?
After his first DUI, he agreed to never do it again. But he did it again. There’s no indication he received, nor sought any treatment after his first DUI. Why?
The current bench called for his resignation as did the Benton County prosecutor. We have paid approximately $120k in the last 8 months with little/no service to our community while he finally received treatment for the first time.
He could have killed someone. His election is not for another 3 years. Are the taxpayers going pony up another approximately $600k for him to do near nothing yet get paid, or speak up and say that he should resign? You can’t recall a judge, so we wait.

Lehrman right for city council
I volunteered for Kim Michelle Lehrman’s campaign and ran an information booth when she first ran for office. Unfortunately, she lost the race that time, I am excited that she is running again!
She’s been a champion for Asian American and Pacific Islander rights and for all members of the Tri-Cities. She is running for the open seat on the City of Pasco City Council, Position 7.
The city needs fresh ideas to bring the community closer. She knows the value of hard work and is a fast learner. With a background in education and agriculture, she could help usher in new, innovative ideas for our local economy.

Parking lot issues face Kennewick
Is anyone else frustrated with the amount of questionable-looking people who have made the Kennewick WinCo parking lot their everyday hangout?
I unfortunately live right down the street from it and every single day there are people hanging out in the grass doing drugs/looking at their phones or gathered in the back parking spaces passing around pipes or simply passed out in the grass.
I don’t know what the solution is, but I think there are people who work for the city who get paid to come up with solutions. This problem has been going on for years now in this specific location. This is not okay! It cannot just be the “new norm” for our city. Who’s in charge of taking care of this?

Choose Lehrman for Pasco council
I am writing to support the candidacy of Kim Lehrman for Pasco City Council. Kim is a devoted mom, educator and involved community member.
Kim has spent the last 20 years in Pasco being aware of community needs and then rolling up her sleeves and getting things done. Kim has four school-aged children and teaches in the Pasco School District, she is a Pasco planning commissioner and a youth volunteer coach.
The growth of Pasco is astounding, and it’s not going to stop anytime soon. Kim has thought long and hard on what this type of rapid growth means to our community; including affordable housing and planning for the kind of changes that will come.
She has been listening to everyone to understand current and projected issues. I can tell you personally that Kim is kind, full of energy, has great ideas and won’t just stay on the sidelines while others do the work.
She will be shoulder-to-shoulder with all Pasco residents, helping steer us in the short and long term so this community we all love can flourish. Please consider joining me and voting for Kim Lehrman for Pasco City Council.
