The irony of pro-abortion lawmakers and other Tri-City Herald letters to the editor

Candidate Gibson was impressive

I was so impressed with Corey Gibson at the congressional debate in Yakima. We say we want change but keep voting the same type of politicians into office. Finally, someone with charisma and an actual plan to be an effective, uniting conservative. I’m voting for Corey Gibson to replace Dan Newhouse and telling everyone I know! It’s time for change!

What arms are needed to be free?

A letter stated, “You simply do not need an AK-47 or AR-15 to keep the fox out of the hen house or to defend your home against an intruder.” The writer did not mention that the only purpose for the Second Amendment is “:being necessary to the security of a free state.” What type of arms would be required for this purpose?

A reminder for Rep. Newhouse

Rep: Dan Newhouse:

I write to you to express my concerns with your election campaign regarding the Chinese buying up our farmland. Is this a false narrative or are just trying to emulate the former president? Saying it does not make it true. Please cite your sources because all it does is increase aggressions against Asian Americans. As a person of color, a Latino, I have to wonder who you will target next, Mexican Americans because they are buying up “our restaurants” or maybe Middle Easterns because are taking over “our gas stations/convenience stores”?

It sounds ridiculous right, but as persons of color your targeting is real. We have to deal with it everyday. You should focus on political issues like the economy, gun control, school safety, homelessness, education, climate change, baby formula access and bridging the cultural divide. These are just a few of the issues that should be addressed instead of fear mongering and increasing the racial divide in Washington.

Remember that you work for all of us, so represent us well.

There’s irony in baby formula issue

Regarding your June 16 headline entitled “WA senators concerned by infant formula price hikes,” it’s pretty rich that two of the most strident advocates for killing babies (abortion) are now “concerned” about the price of baby food and the well-being of babies.

Reader feels we are lost in desert

So sad, this mass shooting that just happened again. People are asking for all types of laws and countermeasures to prevent this. Unfortunately they are like band-aids on the skin with the virus still raging inside. So the question nobody is asking is, “What is the virus?”

Well, we as a nation have stepped away and forgotten our commitment to God. When our nation was started, it was centered on God as our provider, comforter, defender and guide. We clearly as a nation have stepped outside of that. We not only stepped out, we ran from God. We are not just outside His fence of protection, we are beyond the surrounding forest. We are now in the desert, without God and wondering why it’s so bad. There is no fix out in the desert other than going back. He is waiting for us to return, some will, many won’t.

No matter how liberal or conservative you are, you know that what I have told you is true. Unfortunately, I feel that I am speaking to the wind but these words are not from me they are from God. “Come back to me.”
