Herald letter writers say vote Doug White for Congress and Tiffany Smiley for U.S. Senate
GOP slicing up social services
Government of the people, by the people, for the people.
But what do we do when one political party consistently acts against the best interests of the people? The GOP has been working for years to eliminate the Social Security Administration (SSA). They want to get rid of it in favor of privatization so the wealthy can make money on the funds that the workers of the country set aside for their retirement. (Not to mention eliminating the ACA, Medicare and Medicaid, too.) They have been unable to do that, so they have done the next best thing. The “reduce the size so it can be drowned in the tub” tactic.
Over the years, GOP administrations have cut the SSA operating budget even as Boomers began to retire in droves. In the past decade, SSA’s budget was slashed by 13% while the number of beneficiaries grew by 21%. Republican appointees to the SSA pushed through closures of field offices and slashed the hours at others, creating more damage.
We need representatives who will make sure government is responsive to the needs of the people. Doug White would be such a representative for Washington’s Fourth Congressional District. Vote for Doug White.

Company gives back to Tri-Cities
I want to talk about an amazing couple who own the Kennewick Dutch Bros. Shawn and Chelsey M. and their amazing people who work at their 4 locations.
They worked with Trot, our local organization that helps disabled students learn Therapeutic Riding with amazing horses each year.
Both Shawn and Chelsey, worked tirelessly to get the day for TROT ready and trained their staff at all four locations ready for the big Saturday.
The event was amazing; now a large check will go to help Trot build their indoor arena that we hope will allow us to bring more families and add our amazing disabled veterans to our program.
Kennewick Dutch Bros family and our Trot family want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It’s nice to see a local business, owned by local folks, give back to our community.
We look forward to seeing you at the Trot Mane Event June 4 so we can celebrate your amazing gift to Trot.
Our families are now better because of your hard work.

Inslee, Murray both need to go
Have you heard of the Inslee-Murray process? That is the name that those two have given to their latest effort to bring about the removal of the lower Snake River dams. It is too bad that they don’t spend as much time and taxpayer money on helping Eastern Washington as they do trying to mess us up!
Also, you can tell that there is an election coming up, because Pandering Patty has shown up trying to act like she has been working hard for us the last four years, what an unabashed phony!
It is time to get this lifer out of office and support Tiffany Smiley from Pasco for that Senate spot.
