Climate science misrepresented
Craig Brown misrepresented climate science (in his letter on) on Nov. 10.
No scientist ever claimed 350 ppm is unsafe. Indeed, 350.org chose its name because 350 is the level low enough to preserve the ice on Greenland.
(But) 400 ppm is high enough to melt the Greenland ice, and the GRACE satellite tells us the ice is indeed melting. But the catastrophe of the resulting 20 feet of sea level rise will unfold over centuries, not decades.
Meanwhile, climate science shows that other catastrophes such as fires, hurricanes and floods have already been made worse by global warming. That is why most Americans want Congress to do something about climate change.
Bjorn Blomberg’s estimate of a negligible impact of the Paris Climate Agreement on global temperature in 2100 ignored the impact of carbon emissions reductions beyond 2030. Much more substantial emissions and warming reductions than Paris would be achieved by, for example, the Energy Innovation and Carbon Dividend Act.
Yes, electricity costs twice as much in Germany as in the U.S. (partly because of its unwise decision to abandon nuclear energy), but Germany’s economy is still growing. Meanwhile, carbon-free energy technology continues to get cheaper. Innovation and market forces driven by climate policy.

Allied Arts Board deserves kudos
I attended the Lighted Boat Parade at Howard Amon this Saturday (12/7/19) and happened upon the Allied Art’s version of a Christmas Market. They were handing out free hot chocolate, had an ornament-making station for children in the back and local musicians performing favorite carols.
What a pleasant reminder of what an asset this store is to the community. Besides showcasing beautiful hand-made art from local artists, the board decided to create a magical Christmas experience to share with the community.
Thank you for your hard work and dedication to the arts. I look forward to next year’s experience.

Can anyone say doomsday with Hilary?
The Dems are poor sports … so they lost the presidency and now all they are good for is wasting time and our money licking their wounds and bugging our president.
Dems want to remake our country and get rid of the Constitution.
Socialism and Communism leads to starvation for us deplorables as Hilary calls us. The constant dumbing down of Americans has worked after years of this agenda by the Democrats. So now let’s get smart and encourage them to keep America a Godly nation.
Can you imagine Hilary being about to handle North Korea and the bombs?
We are now here because President Trump could. He did not roll over and go to sleep like Hilary did for Benghazi. He is the one to bring peace to our nation and our world.
It would be great when everyone gets on board to support him instead of trying to get rid of him. He is guff but so what he is getting the job done in spades. Our prayers and sacrifices are for him to clean up America and make it a great holy nation. The era of peace depends on this.
