Letter: What to do about “fake news”

What to do with a president who lies incessantly and sends his minions out to do the same? Who imprisons thousands of children along the Mexican border and has ICE deport hundreds of thousands of immigrants? Who divides the races with his rhetoric? (Call him a racist, a fascist, a Hitler, a leader of Nazi followers, a supremacist!)

A president who is cozy with Russia, cuts secret deals with a nuclear enemy, and disgraces America before the world? (Treason, calls for impeachment, record Senate delays of appointments!)

Who attacks the press? (A coordinated national editorial against him, 24/7 negative news stories, and insulting “award-winning” McClatchy cartoons!)

Who issues executive orders and regulations that are overturned by multiple judges? (Antifa riots in the streets and on campuses!)

But wait, none of this happened! Why? Because the president who committed these “high crimes and misdemeanors” was Barack Obama!

So now we know that the daily outrages over Trump are manufactured by a fake news media which has no credibility!

If you don’t want to be known as “the enemy of the people,” then stop acting like it and cover Trump the same way you treated Obama (i.e., positive news all the time)!
