Letter: Thanks for stance on “fake news”

I knew that hundreds of newspapers across the country planned to unite on Aug. 16, publishing editorials against President Trump’s continuing assaults on journalists and the First Amendment. I wondered if the Herald would take a stand on Trump’s “fake news” and “enemy of the people” assaults against our free press, given what I read in the occasional letters that seem to support such activities.

The Herald published an editorial as one of the newspapers in The McClatchy Co.! I wanted to quote something in my letter from the editorial, but there are just too many good choices to choose from.
