Letter: Herald is getting more liberal
I am a 30-year Tri-City Herald subscriber and I have observed a continual and increasing bias toward liberal/progressive views in the headlines, Associated Press articles the Herald chooses to publish, and the TCH editorial board column. I refer now to the specific political cartoon on page 2C of the Aug. 5 Tri-City Herald edition as an example. This cartoon depicts President Trump as a cartoon buffoon and contains no real message except “Never Trump,” with no supporting logic or rationale. This is the president of the United States. Is this cartoon really the position that the TCH management wishes to present to its readers? If so, I would ask “why” a news organization would intentionally insert its own political bias and call it “news.” I consider this irresponsible and substandard news coverage.
The citizens of this great country are actually pretty smart, irrespective of what the TCH editorial board/management may think. These citizens elected a president with an administration that they believed would best meet their needs and the needs of the country at this point in history. Journalists, including those at TCH, need to pull back on their personal political positions and insinuations and simply report on the actual news.
