Letters to the Editor

Letter: Thank you to my paper carrier

There have been many changes to the Herald, most of them not good. The paper is smaller, there are far fewer reporters, there are no late scores.

Consultant Tom Peters claims that regardless of how poorly a company is doing, there are usually pockets of excellence. For me the excellence of the Herald is my delivery person, Lester. Since Lester took over our route, we have never missed a delivery and the paper is consistently delivered by 5 a.m. He would advise us when out of town and would have a dependable substitute. Recently Lester sent a note that due to the demands of graduate school he would be giving up the route. He thanked us for the opportunity to serve us and added that if we didn’t receive a paper during his last delivery weeks, we could call him and he would bring one to us. Note that the Herald no longer provides same-day redelivery.

We have taken the Herald for over 30 years, Lester is absolutely the best delivery person we have had.

Lester said it was a privilege to serve us - Lester you got it wrong, it was our privilege to be served by you.
