Letter: Send in a Marine in 8th District

Vote for Philip Lemley, Republican. Phil has a record of passing common-sense, fiscally-sound, productive legislation. Brad Klippert is a useless legislator who wastes our tax dollars. In 2015, after years of doing nothing for Eastern Washington, Klippert’s big idea was co-sponsoring spectacularly bad legislation to look into splitting our state. Anyone who can do basic math knows that Eastern Washington benefits economically from the West side, which is why we need a legislator who can work with both sides of the aisle.

The Split State proposal would have left us paying massive costs to divide our state government into two, and cut us off from the economic and educational opportunities, not to mention our claims to the Seahawks and Mariners. Our Eastern Washington economy wouldn’t be sustainable without raising taxes. Klippert has failed to pass legislation that brings money to our district. It’s time to put Klippert on the bench and send in a proven community advocate. Klippert talks the fiscal conservative talk, but the only legislation he shows up for is wasteful pet projects that pander to his ego. It’s time to send in a Marine.
