Letter: We are better than our actions show

Children as young as three years old, most likely non-English speaking, separated from their families, being forced to appear in legal proceedings against them without their parents. This is a tragedy played out as a farce. It is disheartening to see my country portrayed this way before the eyes of the world. We are better than this!
