Letter: Rethink decision on fireworks
The Pasco City Council needs to rethink the decision to allow fireworks in the city! As a Pasco resident, I along with many of my neighbors suffered hours of continual bombardment of cannon-like explosions and fear that our homes could be set on fire by a few thoughtless residents setting off illegal and unsafe fireworks. The old saying, “Give them an inch and they will take a mile,” applies here. The City Council, by lifting the long-standing ban on fireworks, opened the door to anything goes as was seen here on this 4th of July. I dread to think what will happen come the next New Year’s Eve and 4th of July. Come on Pasco City Council, wake up and realize that the majority of residents are not happy with your decision!
