Letter: Defy ignorance and preserve our true history

Many in modern times seemingly think that our founders were people who knew nothing, believing them to be atheist, racist, and to have no morale values.

All this, they seem to believe, because of the most plain and precious parts of our history are being twisted and cut out.

Present historians often discredit and leave out the most important events, leaving each generation with less and less.

This will eventually erase all that we know and love, and the mistakes made throughout history will be repeated.

Our choice land is riddled with many corrupt falsehoods, and we are slowly falling into the snare of the corrupt, who seek to destroy our land, our lives and our freedom.

We must dig deep and find the truth about our history and teach those around us.

Thomas Jefferson said, “If a nation expects to be ignorant and free in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.”

He also said, “Educate and inform the whole mass of the people. ... They are the only sure reliance for the preservation of liberty.”
