Letter: ‘No’ on school bond until WiFi is out

Reading over the mailing for the Kennewick School District levy, I was not pleased to see that they’re requesting money to fund outdated technology. Saturating our children’s environment with WiFi is not acceptable. It isn’t healthy for the human body, especially children’s developing bodies.

Fiber optic connectivity to the internet has faster upload/download speeds, and is a more reliable, efficient, safer and secure connection. Why invest more money in something that’s already outdated? For that reason, I will be voting no on the levy. We should be investing in fiber optics. It’s by far the better choice and a better investment of taxpayer dollars.
