Letter best: Investing in schools today pays off down the road
As a life long Tri-Citian, my family and I have enjoyed an exceptional quality of life. Low crime, great recreational opportunities, affordable cost of living and great schools for our children.
Even though our “kids” graduated many years ago from the Kennewick School District, we have continued to be staunch supporters of levies and bonds. The Kennewick School District is a great steward of our tax dollars. Most important to me is that we give all of our kids in Kennewick the opportunity to graduate and go to college, join the workforce or the military, and become good citizens.
The investment we make into our schools by voting yes on the upcoming levies will benefit our kids now and our community in the future. As the chief of police in Kennewick, I know firsthand that investing in education provides great opportunities and is less expensive than incarceration, having adults unemployed or underemployed, and dealing with a variety of issues that impact our community in a negative way.
One levy is for educational programs and one is for technology. Both are important to the success of our students and community. Please join us in voting yes for both upcoming levies.
