Letter: Term limits would shut down ‘old boy’ network
Both parties state that U.S. citizens do not want a shutdown, but as usual our voices and votes fall on deaf ears. Bi-partisan is continually talked but never walked.
There are many young representatives in both parties who can move our country forward and break us from this “old boy” power club. Term limits is a must. Our founding fathers never intended our elected representatives to control and manipulate this great country in the manner that we have been and are experiencing. We see this power play being displayed by many of our national and state elected officials.
We have a governor who is seems to be preparing, at our expense, to run for the presidency. While other state’s governors, such as in Texas, are cutting state taxes and seeking new business, our governor is asking for a carbon tax. It appears both he and western Washington support a sanctuary state and cities. A sugar tax on soft drinks imposed by Seattle will slowly groom us for even more government control.
It is time we get back to government for the people and by the people. New young leaders, with a heart for the country and not for themselves, would be a start.
