Letter: Flat tax would simplify the code, be great for U.S.

I will gladly give up personal property tax deductions if I knew my taxes would go down. I believe this will happen. Our tax code is outdated with many loopholes only adding to the overall tax increase every year.

The tax code we are saddled with is overly complicated, a time-waster and a drain on our economy.

I would like to see a new, fair flat tax, actually the Fair Tax would be great.

The House Republicans have made a start; we should applaud their efforts.
