Letter: Measure of success isn’t 4-year degree

I read two articles this fall that want me to say Bravo: one about Tri-Tech students helping paint an elderly couple’s house and do yard repair, and most recently about the student electricians donating $5,000 to the Tri-City Country Club.

To me this shows that every young person does not need to attend or graduate from a four-year college. These vocational or training programs are creating the people who make our world go round. I am thankful every day for my electrician, my plumber, my painter, my hairdresser, my landscaper, my heating/HVAC tech, my car mechanic, my house cleaner, my healthcare assistant, and many more highly trained workers who make my life possible.

Good work, all of you! You are a credit to your profession and a huge help to everyone. Thank you.
